Shops: your own villager, your own prices
Player-run shops are villager traders that you own — they sell what you stock, at prices you set, while you're offline.
The idea
Chest + villager
Place a chest (your stockroom), then create your shopkeeper on it. The villager stands where you put them and trades from that chest.
You decide everything
Open the shopkeeper's editor to set trades: what item, how many, for what price. Restock by filling the chest. Earnings land in the chest too.
No scams possible
Trades happen through the villager UI — nobody can steal stock, undercut a locked price, or grief the stall (it's on your town plot, after all).
Why this beats a chest with a sign
It sells while you sleep
Your shop trades 24/7. Stock it before you log off; count the earnings at breakfast. Towns with a market square become destinations — put your stall where the foot traffic is, or petition your mayor for a shop plot (/plot set shop — ask them).
Shop types
Sell items for money, buy items from players for money, barter item-for-item, or trade written books. Different villager professions are cosmetic — pick the look that fits the stall.
Works on every platform
The trading window is the vanilla villager UI, so phone and console players shop exactly like PC players.
Rolling out now — if shop creation isn't live when you read this, it's days away. Ask staff in-game for the current status.
